In September 1982, family and friends gathered in Winona, Minnesota, to honor a remarkable milestone: the 90th birthday of Loyde Eugene Pfeiffer. Born in the small town of Thompson, North Dakota, in 1892 to Charles and Sarah Pfeiffer, Loyde’s life spanned nearly a century of American history. He was the mayor of Winona, Minnesota, in the early 1950's.
Melvin "Dewey" Brasel (1924-1997). After a career that took the family through Illinois, Arkansas, and Nebraska, he and Martha retired to Duluth, Minnesota. Please note that Martha promised Dewey that nobody would hear this, yet she copied several cassettes of the interview!
