The crux of the story of Jonah is often overshadowed by the infamous detail of Jonah being swallowed by a large fish. However, if we take a deeper look into the softening of Jonah’s heart once he finds himself in this dark lonely place, we are better able to witness two things - 1) God's love & compassion & 2) Our acceptance of this freely given gift.
