Expounding Wisdom
by Manuel MathisSeason 2
God's wisdom and ours
In the episode Manuel explains what it means for us to live with wisdom. We have all quoted James 1:5, "If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask God..." but have you ever stopped to think what wisdom in our daily life actually looks like? This episode explains what wisdom is not, but it also explains what it actually is. Proverbs 1:7 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." I hope you are blessed.!God the only Wise!
God's wisdom and sovereignty go hand and hand. His sovereign decree is governed by his wisdom. We must look at both of them at the same time and not allow us to find fault in one because we do not like the other. God's attributes ought to be worshipped and trusted. I pray this episode will help strengthen you trust in God the only wise! The majesty of God!
Is your God too small? When you think of God, does his greatness come to mind? The God of the Bible is majestic in all his ways. the Bible tells us that not only is God personal, he is also great! We often find ourselves meditating on the personal nature of God, but often lack a theology on his greatness. I hope this episode helps level out that balance. Enjoy, and God bless!God Unchanging
In this episode Manuel Mathis explains how we can connect with our Bibles in a fresh way. We have to remember that the God of the Bible does not change, and so the God of the Bible is the God of today and that should cause us to rejoice and reflect on how he was then and see that's how he is now! I hope this episode brings some peace and clarity to your life.He Shall Testify
In the episode of the Expounding Wisdom Podcast Manuel discusses the importance of the third person of the Trinity and His ministry. The Holy Spirit is often ignored in a lot of peoples theology and practical application of their daily life. Hopefully, this episode will ignite a fire in us to not only acknowledge the Holy Spirit but thank Him for His work.God Incarnate
The Christmas Spirit? What is that? Simply put, the Christmas Spirit is one of humility. In this episode, Manuel explains how the incarnation can lead us to a humble life and one thankful for what Jesus, the God-Man decided to do for us!The One True God
The God of the Bible is the only true God and he should be worshipped as he sees fit. The only reason we know anything about this God is because he has chosen to reveal himself to us. We would know nothing of this God if he had not given us his word, the Bible. So we ought to be thankful that he has spoken to us. But how does any of that play into the second commandment? Check out he episode to find out.Known by God
In this episode of the Expounding Wisdom Podcast we discuss what it means to Know God. Honestly, the action is rather passive. We know God more as he chooses to reveal himself to us and we respond in obedience and faith. The beauty of knowing God is ultimately found in being Known by Him.Know the Lord.
In this episode Manuel goes through chapter 2 of J.I. Packer's book "Knowing God" and lays out the 4 propositions that help people see if they truly know the Lord. Those who know God show energy for God, have great thoughts of God, show great boldness for God, and are content with God. Hope the epidote is a blessing! The Study of God. Why?
In this episode Manuel Mathis begins the new book called Knowing God by J.I. Packer. He begins by answering one of the most basic questions, why study God? In a time where so many people want less theology and more ways on how to live Godly lives, they dismiss theology. But this way of thinking is not encouraged in the Bible. The pursuit of studying God is in itself the pursuit of living a Godly life. The more you get to know him, the more you will find yourself living a holy life.
