Second Chronicles 18–20 shows Jehoshaphat learning important lessons about relationships, counsel, leadership, prayer, and dependence upon God.
Chapter 18 records Jehoshaphat’s dangerous alliance with King Ahab of Israel. Jehoshaphat asks for a word from the Lord, but Ahab surrounds himself with prophets who tell him exactly what he wants to hear. Only Micaiah speaks the truth.
Chapter 19 shows Jehoshaphat returning home after nearly losing his life. God sends Jehu to rebuke him for helping the wicked. Jehoshaphat accepts correction and then strengthens Judah spiritually by appointing judges and reminding them to judge in the fear of the Lord.
