After Karl's rather... uninhibited confrontation with Prince Cedric at breakfast, the Slaughter cousins have to deal with the repercussions. From a glint of revolution to smoothing things over with the prince, those two have their hands full. Meanwhile, Nerine and Melron both stand out to Professor Oligath, the school's history teacher, albeit in vastly different ways.
The sun rises on the first day of classes for the students of Etherreach, and what better way to kick things off than with breakfast! But what happens when one of our hapless heroes kicks off more than just the day in an attempt to help a fellow classmate? And what mess is left for others to clean in their wake?
With the first day coming to a close, the students find themselves with a bit more time on their hands. With new friendships sparking, and old connections resurfacing, Melron, Debi, Karl, and Nerine are starting to make a small foothold in their new community. But will their budding relationships be the start of something wholesome? Or lead to something much less desirable?
With formal introductions complete, Dean Hardmire assigns everyone to their new study groups that will last the entire year. While some groups look to be getting along quite well, others seem to already harbor dysfunction simmering just below the surface. As Melron, Karl, Debi, and Nerine are grouped together, will their varied personalities make a harmonious blend? Or will they be far too different to fit together easily? And who is the mysterious final student that has yet to show their face?
It is time to meet Etherreach's students! As Dean Hardmire has everyone gathered for orientation, first impressions are essential. Melron, Debi, Karl, and Nerine each have their own goals, but how will they introduce themselves? Who will their words intrigue?
