Identity: Who Does God Say You Are & How Is He Calling You to Live?
In a world that constantly tells us to find our identity in our accomplishments, appearance, relationships, career, and social media presence, we must remember who God says we are and allow His character to shape the way we live. In this episode, we're diving into what Scripture says about who we are in Christ and how our identity in Him should shape the way we live. We'll talk about why the enemy attacks our identity first, the emptiness of building our worth on worldly success, and the freedom that comes from rooting our identity in God's truth instead. We'll explore what it means to be: Created in God's image Chosen and deeply loved Holy and set apart Forgiven through Christ A new creation A temple of the Holy Spirit Then we'll walk through Ephesians 4 and discuss how our new identity calls us to a new way of living—putting off our old self, renewing our minds, and putting on the character of Christ through truth, forgiveness, kindness, selflessness, and endurance. If you've ever struggled with comparison, insecurity, shame, or wondering who you really are, this conversation is a reminder that your identity isn't something you have to earn—it's something God has already given you. And when you know whose you are, it changes how you live. Scripture covered: Genesis 1:27, 1 Corinthians 6:19, 1 Peter 2:9, Colossians 3:12, Ephesians 1:7, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 4:17–32, Ephesians 5:1–2, James 4:17, and Luke 12:48.
The Connection Between Physical & Spiritual Endurance
What does it really mean to endure well? In the very first episode of Endure Well, I share the heart behind this podcast and why I believe the discipline we build through fitness can point us toward something even greater: a life of faithful endurance with Christ. We’ll explore what Scripture teaches about perseverance through passages like Hebrews 12:1–2, James 1:12, 1 Corinthians 10:13, Ephesians 2:8–9, and 2 Timothy 4:7, and discuss how God uses life’s challenges to strengthen our faith. In this episode, we talk about: Why I started Endure Well and what the name means. The connection between physical discipline and spiritual discipline. What it means to “lay aside every weight” and run the race God has set before us. Why consistency matters more than intensity—in both fitness and faith. How salvation through Jesus makes a relationship with God possible. How to continue trusting and obeying God through temptation, suffering, uncertainty, and everyday life. Whether you’re training for a race, building healthy habits, or simply trying to stay faithful in a difficult season, my prayer is that this episode encourages you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, trust Him in every circumstance, and endure well. “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus…” — Hebrews 12:1–2
