Guilt and Shame- Part 2- Shame
We talk about shame, we all know it's detrimental to our health...but do we truly understand what it is and why it's so toxic? Let's look into it.
Guilt and Shame- Part 1- Guilt
Ah, good old guilt. What is it, and is it good, or bad? Some people argue that guilt is an important part of our journey, because it enables us to regulate our actions and behave in ways that are civilized and humane. But can this be argued? Here's my take on the first of two parts of this recording: Guilt and Shame. Enjoy!
Healthy Boundaries versus Boundless Love
There is so much talk about the importance of boundaries on one hand, and so many messages on universal love and Oneness on the other...how are these two compatible? . For me it has been confusing on occasions...but I've come to discover they are both different aspects of one same experience. This is how it all combines. I hope it helps you see more clearly too! . xxx
Belonging (or the Little Black Sheep)
Feeling like we don't belong can be really excruciating. No matter who you are, what you have experienced, or how much pain you are in...it is a fact that you belong. For most of my life I felt like I did not belong at all...what a relief it is to discover that the power to change this feeling has been inside me all along. I share a little bit of this experience with you, hoping it provides relief.
The blind spot of Toxic Masculinity
I see it so present today in social media. It is such an important and predominant subject in our times- toxic masculinity. I celebrate that we finally have the courage to look into what no longer works for us, and boy, are there things that don't work...but...what am I not looking at within myself that requires attention, and over which I can take responsibility? There are always blind spots...the trick is to learn how to gently bring them to our attention.
The Art of Making Decisions
Coffee or tea? Reaching out or not? Should I take that job? Move to that country? Marry that person? Wear a sweater, or a coat? The blue pill...or the red one? Making decisions can be so confusing. We don't want to get it wrong, sometimes we have so many choices, sometimes it feels like we're walking on a tight rope, because the stakes feel high. In any case, I've realized that sometimes I am overwhelmed, and thought I'd talk about it a little bit, as well as share what helps me, when I really no longer know what decision to make. Enjoy!
Why can Positive Thinking be problematic
Of course, we all want to have positive thoughts, we KNOW it is a better way to live. But the mind is not a tool without complexities, and so achieving positive thoughts can be a little more tricky than what it first seems. Otherwise, if it were that simple, we would all just walk around thinking positive thoughts, and the world would be a better place, So pay attention to the mechanics, and you may discover something new. There is a way for the mind to be healthier...but which way is it?
Why is Grief Important?
You may be going through a rough period. You may have experienced things in the past that you weren't able to fully process, and you still don't really know how. You may be near someone that is going through some kind of loss. Either way, grief is an inevitable part of life...but how do we go about it? It's tricky, but if I have learned anything at all, it is that it really requires space within us to exist. Here is a little help, for anyone who may be grieving.
What is Integration, and why is it so important in Healing?
We've all done it, intuitively, but most of us have forgotten how. Some call it alchemy, others shadow work, others call it integration. The more we learn to bring out the yucky sides and give them love, the better off, the more wholesome, complete, and connected we become.
