Episode notes
Session 119 recorded January 6, 1965.
The "Not an Animus" Vibe
Jane Roberts (who Seth calls Ruburt) was hitting the books—specifically Carl Jung—before this session. Seth immediately wanted to clear the air about his identity. Apparently, he’s not Jane’s "animus" (that's Jung-speak for the male side of a female's subconscious). Seth describes himself as a much different "chap" than the personified aspects of Jane’s psyche.
- Seth is an independent entity, not just a psychological construct or a "shadow" hanging out in the basement of Jane's mind.
- Jane’s actual animus is apparently much more "omnipotent" to her subconscious than Seth is.
- The session kicked off with Jane in a deep trance, lounging in a wicker chair, proving you don't need to pace around to channel some universal truths.
