19 - So Independent: Indi’s & minors this federal election (w/ Amy Haddad)

In which Amy and Ben kick the can around for an explanation for why independent candidates and minor parties have been fairing very well with increased attention from state/ corporate media, in national opinion polls and in some polling in some seats. Consistently, around 30% of those polled have been indicated they’d not vote 1 to federal Labor or the Coalition.

We’re also seeing aspects of this situation reflected in electorates like [H1] ACT where a considerable minority continues to be unhappy with representation from Labor and the ACT Conservatives.

In the ACT Senate race there is a range on Independents running along with the Greens. Some pundits are yet again claiming that the current Liberal Senator, Zed Seselja, quota is in jeopardy.
