Crest Podcast Ep18 - Sindia Sosdian

Crest Surfcast by Tom Anderson

Episode notes

What makes a world-renowned paleoclimatologist with a powerful forehand gouge leave New Jersey to settle down in... Wales? Apparently our waves aren't too shabby, and our water 'isn't as cold' as NJ in winter. With a work travel itinerary that could just as easily be that of a Search movie, Dr Sosdian has joined Tom and Breige Lawrence to tell tales of voyaging in the name of oceanic research (which often means catching waves!) and of growing up in Jersey. Why did she replace the sandy barrels of Manasquan for Llantwit? And what is the future for the coral reefs the world's ecosystems - and often its surf spots, too - depend on? And would she actually consider herself long enough resident of Llantwit to prefer Channel Coast SC over Welsh Coast?
