Almost two inches of fresh snow on the ground and black ice hiding on every shaded road. If you're heading out before 7 A.M., take it slow. Seriously slow. Wind chills around 8 A.M. Drop to 11 degrees. That's the kind of cold that finds every gap in your jacket. Now the good news. Skies clear by mid morning. Sunshine takes over. But don't let it trick you. Step outside along the coast and you're only hitting 30 degrees today. Slide inland to the central valley and it's even stingier. Tops near 27. Eastern Connecticut lands around 30 as well.
