The Gospel of John - Part 48
We've made it! This is the last message on the gospel of John for us. It's a beautiful story of grace and love. Peter is reinstated. Jesus gives a clear vision for how all of us as His disciples should expect to live for Him. We'll relate the teaching of Jesus in chapter 21 to the overall theme of John. Thanks for being a part of this whole series. It has been awesome to look at this gospel together.
The Gospel of John - Part 47
Your faith is what Jesus cares about. He stopped at nothing when He went to the cross so that our faith in Him would result in our salvation. But, Jesus knows that we have doubts, fears, and worries. So He keeps working in our lives to enhance our faith in Him. He keeps meeting us in our needs so that our confident trust in Him will grow. I hope today's message from John 20 is a comfort and an encouragement to you.
The Gospel of John - Part 46
In today's message, Mary, Peter, and John all experienced the empty tomb. It's awesome to see how the empty tomb really spoke to Peter and John. It was a moment of deep realization for them about their Savior Jesus. We're going to look at their experience with the tomb and then discuss three really valuable pieces that we can learn for ourselves from this story today.
The Gospel of John - Part 45
If you think about your own life as a Christian, when did it become real for you? I mean, really real? I think all of us need to have a moment like this where we are done playing games, done playing it safe, and we put our faith on display and we don't care who sees it. We see this in two men today as we look at John 19. Plus, so many more wonderful things that happen as a result of Jesus giving His life for us.
The Gospel of John - Part 44
Who do you say Jesus is? This is the question that every single person must answer during this life. Here in John 18, we see how three people came face to face with this question. All of them responded differently. Your response to Jesus matters for all eternity!
The Gospel of John - Part 43
I say it often, but that's because it's true - Jesus is our example. As we get into John 18 this week I was struck by the example of Jesus yet again. He follows the will of God for his life allowing himself to be arrested, fully aware of all that's coming his way. What does it look like for us to follow this kind of example in our lives? Think and wonder about this with me today.
The Gospel of John - Part 42
We're finishing up Jesus' prayer here in John 17. And it's incredible because this week we learn that Jesus prays for us! That's right, you and I are prayed for by Jesus. So good! Themes of glory and unity continue in verses 20-26. I hope you enjoy.
The Gospel of John - Part 41
Jesus prays for His disciples in the passage that we look at today. Are you a disciple of Jesus? If so, there is much for you and me to learn from what he prays about for here in John 17. A key to this message is seeing the joy that we can experience in Christ even as we live in the midst of hardship is this troubling world.
The Gospel of John - Part 40
Have you ever listened to someone as they prayed out loud? What did you learn about them? What did their prayer tell you about their heart? Today, in John 17, we look at the prayer Jesus prayed just a short while before He is arrested, put on trial, and crucified. Some amazing insights beginning this week!
The Gospel of John - Part 39
Jesus doesn't pull any punches with His followers. In the passage we're looking at today (John 16:16-33) Jesus tells us the truth about what it looks like to follow him. It will be tough, there will be challenges, but the joy that comes into our lives is ours forever!
