Dr. Ivelaw Lloyd Griffith is a political scientist and a Caribbean policy expert. He has published more than eight books and more than 50 scholarly articles. His research encompasses everything from Caribbean national security to drugs and crime issues. A past president of the Caribbean Studies Association, Dr. Griffith is also a fellow with the Caribbean Policy Consortium and Global Americans. He has been a consultant to the Commonwealth Secretariat, USAID, Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and he has testified before the U.S. Congress on Caribbean national security issues. His interview with Caribbean Today focuses on the unresolved border dispute between Guyana and Venezuela and its historical origins.
