Post-Traumatic Growth and Sibling...
Post-Traumatic Growth and Sibling Estrangement

Brothers, Sisters, Strangers: A Podcast on Sibling Estrangem... by Ali-John Chaudhary, Psychotherapist and Fern Schumer Chapman, Author

Episode notes

Most people don’t think of growth when struggling with traumatic experiences, but post-traumatic growth is possible. Several elements define post-traumatic growth, such as appreciating life more fully, improved relationships with others, and a better understanding of self. We always have opportunities to choose how we will live and, as we adjust our lives and expectations to our new understanding of a sibling relationship, some of those choices can make us feel more alive. Post-traumatic growth in a sibling estrangement can bring deeper self-knowledge, unexpected opportunities, new chances for love, and a new sense of peace.
