Summary: Today, Friday March 27th, I had an evening meeting planned with Rick, his wife Rachel, and daughter Claire. I first met Rick in Angola at the Flow Hotel — he works for the Canadian High Commission, which covers Angola and Eswatini from their base in Mozambique. Since I was only about 2 kilometers from their place, and Rick warned me that Friday afternoon traffic would be terrible, I decided to walk rather than drive. It turned out to be a great decision. Walking toward the waterfront, I got to enjoy the beach scenery, see little fishing boats bobbing in the water, and watch fishermen repairing their nets. I also noticed long lines at a gas station — apparently fuel prices are about to go up and there are concerns about potential shortages, so everyone was rushing to fill up.
