Pastor Aaron finishes up the book of Acts with a challenge to go into the world and be ambassadors for Christ.
Today we read more about Paul being shipwrecked on the island of Malta. Paul's faith in God's promise that he would make it to Rome is evident in the passage where Paul is bitten by the snake. We also see God's work through Paul with the miracles of healing that God worked through Paul.
Pastor Aaron walks us through the first part of Paul's journey from Caesarea to his shipwreck on Malta. It is a wonderful lesson on not listening to wise counsel as well as God's grace even when we do not listen to Him.
Pastor Aaron wraps up Acts chapter 26 with Paul's testimony in front of Festus and King Agrippa. Paul shares his own story as well as the Gospel and then invites King Agrippa, Festus and all his attendants to follow the risen Christ.
Pastor Aaron starts Acts 26 where we look at the testimony Paul gives to Festus and to King Herod Agrippa on why the Jewish leaders of the day wish to put Paul on trial and kill him.
After a couple weeks off, Pastor Aaron continues with our study of Acts. We go over the tribunal of Paul by Festus, learning of the charges the Jewish leaders brought against Paul. We see Paul appeal directly to Ceasar, which Festus grants. This begins Pauls journey to Rome where he will spend the rest of his life.
Pastor Aaron explains the first Roman trial that Paul goes through at the Praetorium in Cesaria Phillipi. We see how Paul explains how he has not forgotten the Law or the Prophets, but has seen the Law and the Prophets fulfilled through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Jewish leaders showed they were religious, but did not have faith. Paul showed how he has faith because of his religion and his experience with the saving power of Christ.
Pastor Aaron walks us through the plot against Paul, by the Jews, to kill him. We see God's provision to keep Paul safe so he can continue to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles throughout the Roman world. God was not done with Paul and He is not done with us.
Pastor Aaron walks us through the beginning of Paul's imprisonment by the Roman government. Paul continues to share the gospel of Christ with the Jewish elite of the day. He challenges us to share Christ with our world today, despite the physical consequences. God is not done with us yet. He's still with us even if we don't realize it.
Pastor Aaron walks us through the beginning of the speech Paul gave to the mob at the Temple in Jerusalem. He challenges us to think about how we are comfortable in our lives and how we need to move outside of that comfort zone into where God is calling us.
