Unarmed and leaving his bachelor party at a club, he was shot 50 times by NYPD officers, a tragedy that devastated his family, community, and sparked national outrage.

He left behind his fiancée, Nicole P. Bell, and two young daughters. In the years since, Nicole has tirelessly advocated for justice and shared their story through the dramatized film "Aftershock: The Nicole P. Bell Story," released in theaters on November 28, 2025, and on digital platforms from December 15, 2025.
