Episode notes

In this podcast, we launch our seminal work on sleep and sleep-related issues. The first episode of the series opens grand drape to reveal sleep pressure and our circadian rhythm — the two driving forces of sleep — in action. We sleep to reduce the sleep pressure of adenosine, a chemical compound that accumulates throughout waking hours until it sends us to bed. And we defy our sleep pressure with the rising sun and our circadian rhythm, a master clock that takes us for a ride during the day.
