Jesus, the Light of the world, from Genesis to Revelation

From the very first words of Genesis to the closing vision of Revelation, the Bible tells one unified story, and at the center of that story is light. On day one of creation, God spoke light into existence before the sun was ever made. That detail is not an accident. The light illuminating the first moments of creation was not sunlight. It was the radiance of God Himself, the same Jesus who would later stand before a crowd and declare that He is the light of the world. John 1 makes this connection unmistakable, opening with the same phrase as Genesis and identifying Jesus as the eternal Word through whom all things were made. Hebrews 1 goes even further, calling Jesus the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature.
