In this episode, Tyron and I chat all about the birth of our first baby, Jamie and wowza, it was a lot. We go back to my first birth experience, which was pretty traumatic and definitely not what I expected. Jamie was posterior, I ended up with an epidural, episiotomy, fever and forceps (which resulted in long life pelvic floor damage) and how it all just felt really out of control.
I share how unprepared I was back then, how little I actually knew about birth, and how that whole experience eventually led me to become a doula. Tyron adds his side of the story too, and together we talk about what we’ve learned since, what we’d do differently, and why being informed and supported makes such a difference.
