Bakersfield: FBI agents ended a 15-hour standoff downtown by fatally shooting a convicted sex offender who had taken 10 hostages at a Chase Bank and threatened a bomb. A woman was also killed in a high-speed crash in southeast Bakersfield after a suspect ran a stop sign.
