Falling Flowers
Oil on linen panel 12” x 16”
Hurried feet rushing the train; look here, look there—stilettos all the rage; turn around—hiking boots the new vogue. Flurrying, fleeting change, but God’s word is enduring. Beautiful poppies, carefree, singing for a moment—seasons change, flowers fall. Peter quotes Isaiah as a reminder that the word of God is enduring, written some 700-800 years before Peter, but still true. “For all people are like grass, and their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” 1 Peter 1:24 (And Isaiah 40:8)
