Episode 26: Where Innovation Began… The Science Place! ft. The Science Place Foundation

All Teens Everywhere (A.T.E.) by Dallas Youth Commission

Episode notes

Youth Commissioner Abraham Moreno invites special guests Bailey Turfitt and Aven Stewart to educate us about the Science Place Foundation. They go on to explain its purpose, mission, and why it was relocated. Stewart and Turfitt illustrate how personal experience with the museum has caused them to jump-start this project in restoring certain pieces. This nonprofit is described as a meta-musem, as it catalogues the history of another museum. According to Stewart, some exhibits that are in the process of being restored are the Gossamer Penguin and Bill's Dinosaur. Turfitt goes on to describe the Gossamer Penguin and its background/ rediscovery. So far, the Science Place Foundation has helped recover over 35 exhibits!

Donations are vastly useful, as the Science Place Foundation is a nonprofit.
