When the season began, Kentucky was a favorite to get to Houston for the Final 4 as the defending NPOTY & a balanced roster of upperclassmen + freshmen looked to be one of the best teams in college basketball. Throughout the next 5 months, UK took their fair share of bumps and bruises but ultimately looked primed to make a tournament run. After a round 1 win over the Providence Friars that run seemed more possible than at any point during the season.
