Cool and damp up north. A 20 degree spread across the state. Here's the deal. If you're waking up in northern Alabama, you've got upper 40s and clouds that just won't quit. Showers are likely today, so grab that umbrella before you walk out the door. Light northeast winds at 5 miles an hour. Tonight dips into the mid 40s with that damp air clinging like a wet towel. Drive south into central Alabama and things warm up a touch. Mid 50s with scattered showers possible. Not a washout, but you'll want to keep one eye on the sky. Overnight holds steady in the low 50s.
