Improvvisazione Critiche cinematografiche

Stagione 2

BrainScan (1994), "It's only a game"

Edgar and Courtnee plug into the twisted cyber-nightmare of Brainscan (1994), where a creepy CD-ROM game turns murderously real. They break down Edward Furlong’s emo teen angst, the eerie VR horror aesthetic, and the bizarre, scene-stealing Trickster—part Freddy Krueger, part grunge-rock fever dream. As they unravel the film’s warped reality, they debate whether Brainscan was ahead of its time or just a gloriously weird relic of ‘90s techno-horror gone off the rails.

Battle Royale with Cheese

Edgar and Courtnee dive into the ultraviolent chaos of Battle Royale (1999), the cult classic that made The Hunger Games look like recess. They break down the sheer insanity of a class of teens forced into a brutal fight to the death, the over-the-top performances, and that unforgettable collar-exploding tension. Between analyzing the film’s biting social satire and ranking the most ridiculous deaths, they question whether they’d survive—or just hide like total cowards.

Demon Knight (1995,) "If it feels good, do it!"

Edgar and Courtnee crack open Demon Knight (1995), a glorious mix of gore, camp, and ‘90s horror chaos. They revel in Billy Zane’s scene-stealing villainy, Jada Pinkett Smith’s badass final girl energy, and the sheer insanity of this Tales from the Crypt classic. Between deep-cut analysis and ridiculous tangents, they celebrate the film’s practical effects, wild mythology, and one-liners, proving that sometimes horror is best served with a wink and a bucket of blood.

Dreamcatcher (2003) "Sh*t is Right"

Edgar and Courtnee venture into the snowbound wilderness of Stephen King’s 2003 adaptation Dreamcatcher, bringing their best King-inspired wit to this chaotic blend of aliens, psychic powers, and “memory warehouses.” With cryptic commentary, they dig into its bizarre themes, wild tonal shifts, and truly baffling moments. The duo reflects on the cosmic horror, childhood bonds, and, of course, the absurdity of alien worms in toilets, making this episode an eerie, hilarious deep dive

Jack Frost (1997), "Not Again!"

Edgar and Courtnee unwrap the bizarre holiday horror-comedy Jack Frost (1997), where a killer snowman wreaks havoc. With a Christmas twist, they compare the movie’s low-budget chaos to lopsided gingerbread houses and awkward family gatherings. As they riff on corny one-liners, wild snowman kills, and questionable holiday spirit, the duo delivers a laugh-filled episode perfect for horror fans looking to add a little absurdity to their holiday season.

Dead Air, The Substance, Metal and Blood

Edgar and Courtnee dive headfirst into the surreal body horror of the 2024 film The Substance. They tackle the movie’s grotesque exploration of vanity and youth, where a black-market drug creates a younger self with horrifying consequences. With sharp wit and candid reactions, they break down its intense visuals, biting satire, and disturbing themes. Equal parts critique and chaos, this episode blends laughs, shocks, and insight into one captivating discussion.

The Invitation (2015) "The problem with feelings is that you feel them."

Gather ‘round the table with Edgar and Courtnee as they carve into the tension-filled 2015 thriller The Invitation—Thanksgiving-style. As they discuss the film’s eerie dinner party and sinister twists, they can’t help but compare it to the awkward family Thanksgiving we all know too well. With plenty of laughs, turkey metaphors, and talk of cults instead of casseroles, Edgar and Courtnee serve up a holiday-themed breakdown of this slow-burn shocker that’s as unsettling as cold stuffing.

Joyride (2001)"If you're going to get Murdered make it quick.

Breaker, breaker! Edgar and Courtnee are hitting the airwaves, CB-style, to talk about the 2001 thriller Joy Ride. With a lot of "10-4"s and "What's your 20?", they dive into the wild ride of a trucker’s deadly game of cat-and-mouse. Expect plenty of CB radio banter as they dissect the film’s twists, turns, and creepy villain, "Rusty Nail." Grab your mic and tune in for a high-octane, CB-flavored episode that'll have you saying, "Keep the rubber side down!"
