A Tuned Heart - The Word (A Message Series)

I need to learn (teach me) (33). I need to understand (34). I need direction (35). I need live selflessly and not selfishly (36). I need to know what is of value. It makes my life worth living (preserve) (37). We believe that God will make good on what He says (38). My life is about what is doing right (40). We are saved because of God’s unfailing love (41). I can answer the one who taunts me by showing His unfailing love (42). God’s Word gives me hope. I know He will do what He says and what He says is true (43). We are committed to strive to always obey God’s Word (44). I have nothing holding me back and can walk in freedom when I know I am obedient to God’s Word (45). We want to tell others about what God says (speak before Kings) (46). We love what God says to us. We see it as a love letter (47-48).

Open Eyes - The Word (A Message Series)

We need to open our eyes and see that our being alive depends on Him (17). I open my eyes so I can see the wonderful life he has for me described in His Word (18). I see that I am a stranger on this earth (19). Our spirit longs to hear from Him at all times (20). We are arrogant if we think we can live differently from what He says and He rebukes us for it (21-22). We don’t care what others say about us, we care about what God says to us (23). We need God’s counsel and He counsels us through His Word (24). When we are depressed (laid low), we need him to encourage us (preserve) (25,28). I need to measure my life (recount my ways) according to God’s Word (26). I need to understand what He says to me (27). His Word keeps me from being deceived (29). I nee to choose the way of truth (30). I hold on to what God says to make sure I don’t become ashamed (31). I am free (without any burden of wrong) when I run by following His commands (32).

Blameless - The Word (A Message Series)

His Word guides our walk (vs.1). He is the one we seek who is at the end of the road (vs.2,10). We follow the precepts that are laid down for us (vs.4). We walk this path consistently (steadfast) (vs.5). We have nothing to be ashamed of (vs.6). Our heart is in the condition to praise Him (vs.7,12). It keeps us pure (vs.9). We keep his word in our heart and remember it to remind us not to sin (vs.11). We want Him to teach us how to live (vs.12). I tell people what God says (vs.13). Following the path gives me joy (rejoice) (vs.14). I think about His Word (meditate) and consider how He wants me to live (vs.15)

Overcoming - Living with Confidence (Lessons from Philippians)

I Pray. I ask = petition (vs. 6). I don’t have anxiety because I know He is with me an will help me. I thank. I know that God is up to something and that He is growing me through my circumstances. I have peace. I have transcending peace. (7). My peace comes from understanding. He’s developing me. I keep peace by guarding my heart. I guard it from lies and deception. I think. (8) I think like Jesus thinks. I think about what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admired and I think about being my best – being worthy of praise. I learn. (9). I learn from those who are an example. They learned from Paul. I learn from receiving. I’m given something to help me grow. I learn from hearing. I listen to instruction from those who are credible. I learn from seeing. I see it lived out through an example. I learn by putting new knowledge into practice.

The Goal - Living with Confidence (Lessons from Philippians)

The Goal is to not waist the gift. I become like him. I am humble. I hunger for perfection. I hold on and I let go. When I hold on I become a fully devoted follower of Christ. I need to let go of the past that is keeping me from taking the love of God (the ball) and moving forward. I must move past my past. I have a plan. It’s a plan to spend my time wisely. It’s a correction plan. To correct areas of life where I am failing. I transform. I become mature by living up to the gift. I’ve been given the gift of a relationship with God that needs to be given as a gift to others. I hook up with those who are following the Jesus pattern of living.

Losing Confidence - Living with Confidence (Lessons from Philippians)

1. I must protect myself from being “all that” – bringing attention to myself rather than to God. I need to lose confidence in self – that I am enough alone. I am to gain confidence in God. 2. I am to be pumped. I am to be pumped up about what God is doing and rejoice in what He is up to. It keeps me safe by keeping me humble. It gives us a base line. It keeps things in order. He is always to be before me. 3. I am to protect myself from being bitten. I need to protect myself from those who do evil. They’re living for what is wrong, not right. They go against the expectations of the creator. They want to bring harm. They are unstable. 4. I need to throw out what becomes trash to me. I need to throw out the God complex which causes me to desire the attention of others, their respect, their love and their service. I need to throw out temptation.

The Plan - Living with Confidence (Lessons from Philippians)

We need “always” obedience. Don’t live for face value – living to be attractive, appealing and acceptable. Live for value value – live to add value to others by helping them gain a relationship with God and to help it grow once it’s begun. We need a good work-out plan. The fear plan is to be disciplined to listen and to talk. The trembling plan is to think about what will happen if we don’t become obedient. We need a good attitude. We are not to be whiny. We are not to fight. We are not to crash and be to blame. We are to be blameless and pure. We need to show the way. We aren’t to be the cause for failure.

Living with Joy - Living with Confidence (Lessons from Philippians)

We experience “whole” joy. We have the same love. We have the same spirit. We have the same purpose. We have the same mind. We have the right ambition. It’s the “You First” ambition. We become copy cats. We’re the Xerox, not the original. We live to invest in, not to be invested in.

Sharing Good News - Living with Confidence (Lessons from Philippians)

We are to pray for our partners who also share good news. That they share good news. That they change from the inside out. That they become good news. We are to share the love. Our passion leads to compassion which leads to action. We are to live the clear life. It is clear that we are committed. It is clear that we are encouragers.
