In Episode 4 of Voices of the Faithful, prepare to be delighted and deeply encouraged by the warm, witty wisdom of the legendary Rose-Mary Rumbley—a beloved Dallas actress, educator, historian, and humorist whose vibrant storytelling has inspired generations.
Join this spirited Southern storyteller as she shares her joyful reflections on angels—from her childhood role as "Lo, the angel of the Lord" in a church pageant, to the unforgettable Easter pageants she directed in a Dallas cemetery, to the biblical messengers who guarded, guided, and even wrestled with God's people. With her signature humor, she weaves in tales of Ronald Reagan's savvy union leadership (and the residual checks she still receives!), Saint Patrick's battle against leprechauns with the truth of heavenly angels, Handel's Messiah and the standing ovation tradition, and how art, music, and literature have shaped our view of these celestial beings—often turning them into women and children thanks to generous patrons like the de Medicis!
Rose-Mary reminds us that in a world of rapid, unsettling change, we turn not to fleeting comforts but to the unchanging God whose angels minister and whose Word endures: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever."
This episode is a perfect blend of laughter, nostalgia, Scripture, and faith-affirming encouragement—delivered with the charm of a true godly woman who knows how to keep an audience hanging on every word.
