Louise Lucas Dips Into Campaign Cash Hours Before Virginia Ban

Senator Louise Lucas of Portsmouth just moved $300,000 from her campaign account to cover legal bills after the FBI raided her Senate office and nearby cannabis shop. She did it on June 30—literally the day before Virginia’s new law banning personal use of campaign funds took effect.

In this Virginia Insider report, Uriah Kiser breaks down the transactions: $200,000 paid to a Washington, D.C. law firm and $100,000 transferred to her own defense fund.
