The Bank of Canada has cut its key lending rate by a quarter of a percentage point to 2.75%. The move comes as the Canada-U.S. trade war continues to redefine its tariffs and counter tariffs. BoC Governor Tiff Macklem says the impact of the tariffs could be severe depending on the extent and duration of the trade war. He also says ‘uncertainty’ is already causing harm.
