The Humans Are Unavailable, So the AI Is Making the Picks
The boys are out of pocket this week, so we did the only responsible thing: turned the show over to artificial intelligence. Our new robot overlord begins by reviewing last week’s damage, including Jeff’s spectacular 0–3 performance, Phil turning sports gambling into a breakfast-acquisition strategy, and Bob somehow remaining profitable. Then it’s on to this week’s picks, where all three guys agree on the 49ers, Phil gets excited about the unranked Minnesota-Michigan juggernaut, and Jeff unveils an innovative new betting strategy: taking both the Cowboys AND Texans on the money line. The AI calls this “diversification.” We call it Jeff. Plus Bills-Patriots, Chiefs-Raiders, Colts-Commanders, Air Force-Navy, Florida-Missouri and all the other picks we’ll regret by Sunday night. No humans were required in the making of this episode. Their gambling accounts, unfortunately, were. (Totally generated by AI, be scared, be very very scared)
Young Quarterbacks Break, Kiffin lays an Egg and there is still Golf?
So Week 2 of the NFL doesn’t fail to perplex us and leave us wondering what reality is. Are teams their records, and which week do you believe? And then we review what we did wrong and what we did right. And then we turn our attention to college and our picks for the week upcoming. And apparently there is still golf to be played. Oh yeah, and we take some Yiddish lessons as we finish up Jewish High Holy Days.
A Tale of Two Texii, College Football Schedule Sucks, and the Other Professional League
If you were a fan of Texas football writ large the weekend had you whipsawing around. Saturday night, the Longhorns comeback with a miracle and then Sunday you come crashing back to earth. Cowboys look like they are in post season form early on. We love Cam (Bam-Bam) Skatteboo and maybe kinda secretly like the Giants. Interesting story lines going into week two. Oh yeah and then we talk Facebook rumors about the Spurs coaching bench. Last Week Bets Jeff 1-1-1 Phil 1-1-1 Bob 1-1-1 This Week Jeff - Jags (FTW), Cowboys (-4 1/2), Giants (+7 1/2), Ravens (-8), LSU (-3) Phil - Detroit ( +4 with the Under 54 1/2), Bengals (+3) and Hou/TTU (Over 53 1/2), Bears (-4 1/2) Bob - Bills (-4 with the over 54 1/2), Giants (+ 7 1/2) and 49ers (with an alternate -21 1/2 line), LSU (-3)
LSU is Kinda Good, Michigan loves Clocks and Cowboys to the Superbowl?
We just got done with a wild Week 1 of college football. LSU doesn't play their pros and funny thing, they didn't need them as the Tigers kinda laid down and wanted belly rubs. Michigan got the benefit of bad clock synchronization and Western Michigan doesn't care to the tune of $1.5 million dollars. We wax poetic for the NFL and make our season predictions. Bears and Broncos in the Superbowl? Oh yeah, and Uncle Dennis gets slapped, but Steve Ballmer gets pantsed by Adam Silver, though he does keep the team.
Scottie Wows, Bill Doesn’t Speak and Football is Back
We get a week where there is no basketball news of note. Because the king is back, football. College football ends week 0 and we are off for a new college football season under the new reality that is college sports, and we don’t like it, though it is entertaining. Who is watching these guys. We talk a little professional (well NFL professional, not college professional) as the best time to be a team backer is upon us as your team is a Super Bowl contender and your win-loss record is the best in the league. But we start with golf news and the putative 5 time Player of the Year. Enjoy folks.
Crimes and Misdemeanors, Golf, and Some Meandering
Well, this is another week of trying to find news in weird places. We go from barbeque to prostitution to some golf news. Yep, this is the last week of this, we promise. 49ers ownership has a public relations problem and doesn’t it isn’t about the electrical substation. The SEC realizes the absurdity of their own stupid rules and closes the barn door after the horse comes back in. Way to go LSU.
Jeff Comes in Hot, College Cocaine Ring and Cowboys Talk
Ok, another week of summer sports, but we are almost there. We talk alittle about cocaine problems at Penn State, then Jeff gives us his GMC Dealer reviews as he comes in hot. We talk some Cowboys, and a little golf. We are getting ready to head into football, so are thinking up ways to amuse each other.
Kawhi Gets Paid???, WNBA In the News, and How You Don’t Play Golf
You know when the sports doldrums hit and you find yourself watching too much of the Ocho? The universe provides with some of the stupidest things to talk about. WNBA in the news in two ways with players saying things, taking them back and their CBA becoming a topic of discussion. Oh yeah and then there are the two ex-NBA players declaring for their draft. We talk some Kawhi as it looks like he will not only take himself and Uncle Dennis down, but may bring the Clippers or Steve Ballmer with him. And then we round out with a bizarre story from the world of amateur golf. Strap in folks, this one is a doozy.
We have a guest, talk golf, and solve every problem in sports, no really
Oak Hills’ own Will Worth joins the show for a deep discussion on the FedEx Cup playoffs as our boys compete to get in. Perhaps the PGA has finally gotten the schedule right and has threaded the sports news cycle perfectly as we are talking scenarios and tour cards and guys on the bubble in the first week of August. In breaking news, FIFA is corrupt, and Mayor Jones tries to revisit San Antonio's support for the Spurs arena and the larger Project Marvel. And then we turn our attention to all the ills of sports and solve the rest of them. We smart!
Golf Stabbing, Spurs Make a Deal (Investment) and SA’s MLS Dream is Dead!
Local talent Mac Meissner and Johnny Keefer are fighting hard to make it to the playoffs so best wishes to both of them. But we start out by talking about stabbing on a golf course. San Antonio’s own true crime podcast. Then Lebron goes to Philly and we wonder if he will be embraced by the fans that threw batteries at Santa. And we round back around to the golfing end of season. Oh yeah, we may have discussed Spurs hush money and whether they could have dodged their contractual obligations.
