The One Where Love Didn't Win
Note sull'episodio
Amy Carlson was once a wife, mother, and McDonald’s manager. Then she became “Mother God,” the supposed 19-billion-year-old creator of the universe. Her followers believed she could heal disease, communicate with dead celebrities, and lead humanity into the fifth dimension. But when Amy became severely ill, the people around her did not seek conventional medical help. After her death in 2021, authorities found her mummified remains wrapped in a sleeping bag, decorated with glitter and Christmas lights.
In this bonus episode, Jess explores Amy Carlson’s life, the rise and beliefs of Love Has Won, its alleged abuse and medical misinformation, Amy’s physical decline, the discovery of her body, and the successor groups that continued after her death.
