Note sull'episodio

On June 27, 1844, Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum Smith were martyred while being held in Carthage Jail in Illinois. Growing opposition to the Church and its leaders led to false accusations and imprisonment, despite promises of protection from local authorities.
