Ep 81: The Power of Poetry in Shining a Light on Black Voices

This episode we explore one of Erv Miller's Books "Poetic Depths." It was a great review of the Poem "Dormant State" as we break down a few lines in the poem and create a discussion around the power of poetry. Poetry is an amazing form of literature, that can help shine light on the struggles, triumphs, and/or experiences of a specific group's culture. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did, so sit back and enjoy this episode of "The Real Talk Podcast." Ep 79: Thanksgiving Challenges

Being that we shot this episode around thanksgiving we dive into the background, culture, and opinions surrounding the holiday of “Thanksgiving”. For most it’s a festive time full of cheer, and good memories, while for others it can be a constant reminder of loss, hurt, or sorrow. When dealing with those who seem to shoulder a heavier load around this time of year, E shares a few points that are key to offer aid: 1) Having empathy for someone’s situation and understanding where that person is mentally at that time. 2) Ask a question or question from a place of love, before thrusting into the situation attempting to help. 3) Have the spirit to engage in conversation with the person, the intention to listen more than speak. Of course, we go around the table and ask each other what we are thankful for, which takes the conversation into a deep dive into a conversation that highlights the aspects of “Thankfulness”. We also touch on, challenging yourself going into a new year, and finding one thing new to do or work towards going into 2024. I discussed getting tazed, and E described his experience going to therapy for the first time, and the stigma it holds. This episode is definitely one for the books so LIKE SHARE & COMMENT on “The Real Talk Podcast” Email: thoughtvisionmaterialize@gmail.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_therealtalkpodcast/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/RealTalkPod1 Website: https://rss.com/podcasts/therealtalkpodcastshow/ Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-real-talk-podcast/id1610027998 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0BPlR0ADT7MSg70H50xA6z?si=99aee50173984e64 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@therealtalkpodcast_21?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEhhPfSGCe_XayoL89Wd36w

Ep 76: The Uncomfortable Truth About Growing Your Brand

I heard the analogy “Playing Basketball in Your Own Driveway” which means only playing in the comfort of homecourt, or where you can control, or know what to expect. Sometimes you must put yourself around people who can elevate your games, business, or relationships so that you can get to the level you are seeking. Think about your favorite musical artist, when did you notice that they became their best or a household name? It’s usually once they step outside their hometown and get introduced to new regions and begin to travel and challenge or collab with another artist. We dive into this topic, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did. This is "The Real Talk Podcast" Enjoy! Ep 75 The "God Complex" A Conversation On Bias

We open the discussion today with the definitions of Bigotry and prejudice. E-Milly asked me the question “What if there was no racism?” Would we still find something to separate us like finding differences among each other such as Beards, hair, or facial features? There has also been the need for individuality, which made me wonder if looks and images present an individual with certain outcomes? We address people based on certain bias and prejudice, which prompts your view of a person. The way you view someone could change based on color, hair, speech, or something as simple as a handshake. If it doesn’t look like me, or it doesn’t sound like me it’s wrong, which leads us to the topic of the day the “God Complex”. Take a listen and LIKE, SHARE, & COMMENT if you found some value in our conversation today on “The Real Talk Podcast.” Email: thoughtvisionmaterialize@gmail.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_therealtalkpodcast/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/RealTalkPod1 Website: https://rss.com/podcasts/therealtalkpodcastshow/ Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-real-talk-podcast/id1610027998 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0BPlR0ADT7MSg70H50xA6z?si=99aee50173984e64 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@therealtalkpodcast_21?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEhhPfSGCe_XayoL89Wd36w

Ep 74: Understanding the Role, You Play in Your Success

Everyone has a role to play. Roles in life, whether it be a spouse, parenting, a job or in a group, must be taken seriously. In each role we accept we should ask the question of “where is this headed” in other words “what’s the end goal”. Throughout our lives, we may find ourselves at a point in life where we feel we may be free falling, or in a place where we must question ourselves about how we got there. This state of mind could be a feeling of wasted time, no direction, or no purpose. Realizing you must rid yourself of the fluff or clutter in your life is necessary to allow yourself room to grow and move forward towards goals and pressing priorities. We transition into the conversation into what is considered normal or common and more polarizing topics such as sex, therapy, and Admitting Your Wrongs Take a listen and enjoy “The Real Talk Podcast.” Email: thoughtvisionmaterialize@gmail.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_therealtalkpodcast/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/RealTalkPod1 Website: https://rss.com/podcasts/therealtalkpodcastshow/ Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-real-talk-podcast/id1610027998 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0BPlR0ADT7MSg70H50xA6z?si=99aee50173984e64 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@therealtalkpodcast_21?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEhhPfSGCe_XayoL89Wd36w

Ep 73: Becoming Aware of the Key Differences Between Knowledge & Experience

Is knowledge and experience, one in the same? The generation our parents grew up in is different than the one we are growing up in, but do they share similarities? We have all spoken to our grandparents or parents and told them about something that happened, and they respond with “I remember when….” As new generations appear they bring with them changes, that impact the world as a whole. There are many things that have become available, such as the advances of media, which allowed the world to become exposed to injustices that happen right here in the United States. This was a great episode filled with facts and information that brings an awareness to how powerful each new advancing generation can have on the world.
