078 - Trigger's Jaaaag

In an episode of three distinct parts, Sim tells Matt and Dave about the woes and demise of his Jaguar XE before delving into the comments made by John Elkann. They have a look back at the success of Ferrari in F1 and question the reputation of the F1 team. Finally, the show finishes with a discussion on just how the plights of both McLaren drivers appear to have switched in the 2025 F1 WDC and can we pinpoint where and when this happened? --------------- Want to join in the conversation? They also engage in a quiz comparing English village names to Le Mans drivers. The discussion then transitions to reflections on recent F1 races, highlighting the performances Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri, while also considering the unpredictability of motorsport as well as McLaren's pit stop challenges and the implications of extreme heat race regulations. They also analyse Max Verstappen's performance in the NLS and the impact of the grid strength at this round. The discussion extends to the role of media narratives in shaping perceptions of motorsport and concludes with a debate on the best racing series to watch, both on TV and live. --------------- Want to join in the conversation? 074 - He'll have to go on Wheel of Fortune again

Dave and Scott are joined by Neil to catch up on the chaos from the last few F1 races. Things kick off with some classic “back in my day” grumbles about PC gaming, before swerving straight into McLaren’s team orders drama (and the inevitable over-the-top reactions that came with it). From there, it’s a tour of the ever-expanding midfield—where everyone’s moving around except Alpine, who seem to have set up permanent camp at the back. The guys also break down Max’s bold dash into Turn 1 at Monza, debating just how much tarmac you’re really allowed to use. Finally, they look ahead to Max taking on the Nürburgring, with a little help from The Racing Line app—and even some insider tips from the app’s creator. --------------- Want to join in the conversation? 073 - Swabbing for ferrets

Scott is joined by Sim and Dave for a little mid season quiz, but only after some natual chat about boating and cars in France. There is some distraction during the quiz, as to be expected, as well as an F1 movie interlude while Scott fights with a spreadsheet. Following the results of the quiz, there's a quick look at classic BTCC against modern BTCC with some stories from Dave, who never has a normal motorsport weekend at a track. --------------- Chapters: Introducing with Jean Todt - 00:00 - 03:52 Why was Horner fired? - 03:52 - 13:26 Is Max worth it? - 13:26 - 18:38 Horners successor - 18:38 - 22:10 The current status of Red Bull - 22:10 - 30:02 Scott's wildcard idea - 30:02 - 33:24 Future Red Bull and Mercedes drivers - 33:24 - 43:00 Horners' next steps - 43:00 - 49:37 Outro - 49:37 - end --------------- Want to join in the conversation? 069 - Frank Williams: driver psychologist

First and foremost, everyone at Voecast would like to pay their respects on the passing of Greg - a highly valued member of the Voe group chat for over 20 years, veteran of several Le Mans trips but also the man behind the @GregzVR channel, the classic F1archives.com website and a key member of the modding community. This recording was made before we knew of the sad news, but we will pay full tribute on the next recording, the very least that Greg deserved. The thoughts of Voecast are with Greg's family at this time. --------------- Dave, Scott and Matt discuss the Austrian GP, but only after discussing the issues with the imperial measuring system and mixing it with the metric system. There's a discussion on the team's views on the newly released F1 movie. The race discussion begins on the role the TV director has in creating a narrative around different teams and drivers based on the choice of radio messages which are broadcast.
