Ep. 15 - Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter and Godzilla x Kong: First Reactions

My my my. TWO REVIEWS IN ONE. Well, these are more my first thoughts on two very different pop culture moments. First off, I am diving into the new Beyoncé album - Cowboy Carter. This is the second instalment of the Renaissance project. Come with me as I discuss my very early thoughts on each track and the record overall. Second story is mostly based on my experience watching the new Monsterverse movie in IMAX. I basically go over (without too many spoilers) what this franchise is about and how does this movie compare to the previous instalments. Tune in to find out!!! Ep. 14 - The End of TikTok's Hegemony and Celebrity Couples with Big Age Gaps

Hi y'all. I think today's topic is probably one of the longest overdue. I have been reflecting on the alleged decline of TikTok's influence for a couple of months now but I think I have finally come to a fully fledged argument that is worth sharing with you all. Follow me as I explore what are some of the big (internal) problems the app has been facing and which can potentially bring its cultural dominion to an end. The second topic is more of a fun little discussion that seems to come back every now and then. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his wife specifically were the initial spark for this whole discourse, but yes I am going to be exploring some crazy age gaps between celebrity couples all in an attempt to test how far we can stretch our moral values. Ep. 13 - Kate Middleton's Secret BBL, Miley Cyrus Family Drama and The Oscars

Today's episode is all about crazy pop culture news. The Oscars came and went, giving us some great outfits, incredible speeches and some disappointments too. But this week also brought us some crazy drama. Turns out Miley Cyrus' family is actually super messed up and split apart, even more than you'd expect. And of course, the bigger question of the week is WHERE THE HELL IS KATE MIDDLETON, and most importantly how did that BBL turn out??? Get ready to dive in into some crazy conspiracies!!! Ep. 12 - Ariana Grande's Eternal Sunshine and Advice Session on how to deal with being ignored

New episode alert!!! This episode I am reviewing the long awaited 7th studio album by the one and only Ariana Grande. Tune in for a track by track breakdown while I explore the hidden meanings behind the concept of the album and just simply celebrate the return of one of the most influential artists in contemporary pop music. The second story is a bit more of an advice session. Pretend like I am one of your besties giving you my best advices on how to deal with bad friendships, being ignored and receiving the infamous silent treatment. Ep. 11 - Dune Part 2 and Fifth Harmony Renaissance

This episode we get into two wildly different topics. First one is my very own review of the Dune Part 2 (and the franchise in general I guess) - the hidden themes, the politics, the religion, the lore, the comparison with the books, the SAND WORMS. You name it. This review is as spoiler free as it can be, but I will spoil the entire first movie, sorryyyyyy. The second story is instead focused on the rediscovery of Fifth Harmony, the 5 member girl group from the 2010s most notably know for songs like Worth It and Work From Home. This is a Pop Culture History lesson, so you better get your notes - I will get into the drama between the girls, the timeline of their career and just giggle about the crazy memes that came out of this iconic group. Tiktok is bringing them back (for a week) but they have never been forgotten! You can follow me on Instagram and Threads @robscal.jpg, on TikTok @flushdatoiletyebiach

Ep. 10 - Wtf is up with the English Language?

Greetings. This episode is a very very chaotic one. I have unexpectedly come across way too many new tracks this week so I had to dedicate a HUGE portion of the episode to that. But strap in for some great recommendations! They are ALL worth it. Main portion of the episode is centred on the inconsistencies of the English language (spelling and phonetics). UNUSUAL TOPIC. But if you are a foreigner you'd know a thing or two about this! And if you are a native speaker, you may be surprised about THE INFO I AM DROPPING. You better tune in if you want to increase your brain power. You can follow me on Instagram and Threads @robscal.jpg, on TikTok @flushdatoiletyebiach

Ep. 9 - A Masterclass on Ruffling Feathers (Besties Episode)

Valentine's Day has come and gone, but me and my bestie Pam still got you covered!!! Join us for this special episode while we give you unsolicited advice on how to RUFFLE FEATHERS - that is, how to attract somebody's attention (whether your haters or your crushes) in the most seemingly unbothered and cunning way. You better take notes cause we are breaking down the rules on how to be a heartbreaker! You can follow me on Instagram and Threads @robscal.jpg, on TikTok @flushdatoiletyebiach

Ep. 8 - Grammys, Taylor Swift Hate Train and The Tortured Poets Department

Hi! Did you miss me??? I know you all did. This episode I am going fully unscripted by giving you my honest thoughts and reactions to the 2024 Grammy Awards: the winners, the losers and ALL THE DRAMA, including especially Ms Taylor Alison Swift and the apparent public switch up on her, the SNUBS of the night and Jay-Z doing God's work. I am wearing my messy boots for this one. I am also going to give you my unsolicited opinions on the her newly announced 11th studio album "The Tortured Poets Department" as well as some personal predictions on its sound and content! Ep. 7 - Nicki and Meg Drama and Revisiting Melodrama by Lorde

This episode we say farewell to the longest January by focusing on DRAMA! Listen up as I go over the recent beef between Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj over their newly released diss tracks Hiss and Big Foot. Crazy stuff going on, but the always here for some celeb beef. The second segment is my personal review of Melodrama, almost 7 years after its release..... BECAUSE IT IS THAT GOOD. I re-explore every single track of the album while also reflecting upon its incredible legacy and still withstanding relevancy. Tune in for some laugh and giggles as per usual!!!! Ep. 6 - AI "Deepfakes", Situationships and Mixed Signals

This episode we are talking about two very different and distinct stories: first, I delve into the complexities and monstrosities of AI generated deepfake pornography (all sparked by the recent slanderous fake pictures of Taylor Swift circulating online), the legal struggles in taming these dehumanising trends, our duties as consumers and internet users as well as denouncing the low commitment of many social media platforms to crack down dangerous content. The second topic covers a more lighthearted subject: a bit of a psychological analysis of situationships and mixed signals as well as some advices from yours truly on how to better face them.
