We got baby chicks, and like most things that start small and adorable, we didn’t think too much about what would happen when they grew up.

But then they grew. And grew. And suddenly, as we looked toward winter, we realized something: our flock was too big for our coop. There simply wasn’t enough room for all of them to comfortably make it through the next season.

So, we made the difficult decision to let eight of our chickens go to new homes.

And this little chicken situation started making me think about our own lives.
