“We help people to change their bodies, their minds and their lives through the healing practice of yoga,” Kendra Blackett-Dibinga said in her Essence Magazine interview. Kendra first opened her independently owned studio in DC with her husband in 2014 for people who were not welcomed in traditional studios. She was intentional to create a space dedicated to providing the black community with sustainable opportunities to enhance their total health and wellness. A former senior director for Child Protection, Kendra started BikramYogaWorks owing to her personal experience of having chronic pain. Kendra believes that the healthier we are mentally and physically, the better we can be for those around us and with her three locations she was intentional about offering a safe haven for the black and brown community. Alex And Mo, consider themselves fortunate to host Kendra who has been interviewed by Roland Martin and Essence Magazine to name a few. If you are in the DC area, Bikram Yoga Works is strategically located in Ivy City, Washington DC, Riverdale Park in Prince George’s County, Maryland and Mt. Vernon in Baltimore, Maryland.
