In this episode of The Abuse Stops Here Podcast, we dive deep into the hidden ways abuse is normalized in families, faith communities, workplaces, and elsewhere. Many of us want to stop abuse, yet without realizing it, we've been taught beliefs that protect abusers and dismiss victims. From "boys will be boys" to "just forgive and forget", society is full of biases that excuse harmful behavior and keep survivors silent. We'll share some examples of these biases, how they impact survivors, and - most importantly - how you can start breaking the cycle today. If we want to prevent abuse, we have to start with the words and language we use.
