2025 New Year Stories and Poetry

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree Stories and Poetry I am Terrance Ó Domhnaill, your Irish scéalaí, back with more stories and poems from authors around the world. I know it's been a bit since I read everyone any stories so I have collected several for today, this first day of 2025. For today's show, I have another episode of The Grave Diggers of Orpheus chapter 14. The third part of Liora's story, A story from a Substack writer about a wizard king, a fictional story about a special cat, a science fiction story about love and space ships, and two poems. So gather round once more and let me read to you as we sit together someplace warm.

Christmas Show

Nollaig Shona daoibh Happy Christmas from The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. This is my Christmas show, even though I don't typically celebrate Christian holidays. As I said last week, this week's podcast is primarily going to be about this latest Trump tactic of taxing/tariffing the hell out of Canada and Mexico. Canada is running scared as a twenty five percent tariff on all imports from Canada to the U.S. would cripple the Canadian economy. I have several news stories from the CBC Canada news media along with a blog article from a young Canadian friend of mine, who graciously wrote the article when I asked her for a contribution on this subject. I also have some other news stories to talk about that may also have an effect on everyone's lives after the holidays are over. So, stay tuned as we dig into the stories I have found for you. After my commercial break, I found an inspiration Irish Christmas story to read to everyone as my gift to all of you who watch this video. I would ask that you give you appreciation to the author if you read along with me. So, come sit you down by the crann nollag (Christmas tree) and listen to me tell you some tales about the world outside.

December 18th, Corporations and how they have and continue to Destroy Everything

Esplicito
This was a relatively unplanned episode because I had originally planned to read stories and poetry this week. Once again, I was caught up in world events and also, I had a little push from a friend to say something about corporate greed. Please watch as I offer a little history on western corporations, the wreckage they have caused across the planet in the last five hundred years, and how the west is starting to wake up to the damage they have and are causing in all of our lives right now. After the break, I bring you another chapter of The Priest. Once formerly known as Bob by Michael Campi.

Wednesday December 11th

This week, I have another commentary on the breaking and not so breaking news from the past few days. I offer a take on what's going on in Syria, South Korea, Europe and the United States. I save the bit about the failing health care system in the United States for last. After the break, I read another chapter from The Priest, chapter 19, to offer a continuing glimpse of what an economic failure in the Unites States might look like someday soon. Come in next to the warm fire and listen to the things around the world that might have an effect on you lives someday soon.

U.S. Openly Stated Greed, the End of the British Royal Navy and Immigration

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree for November 27th. I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for spending a little time with me once again. We have had another insane week in world news. This week, I bring you some news articles from Europe, U.K. and the U.S. These are stories that on the surface by themselves, might not get a lot of attention in most circles but put together, they could mean a lot to those of us just trying to avoid nuclear annihilation. Or in the new scary world, deportation enmasse from the global north. To wrap things up, I have another chapter from The Priest to read to you. More of Michael Campi's dystopian future story about what the collapse of the United States would look like from a first-person perspective.

Stories and Poetry for November 20th, 2024

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree Stories and Poetry I am Terrance Ó Domhnaill, your scéalaí, back with more stories and poems from authors around the world. I know it's been a couple of weeks since I have read any stories or poetry but I have been busy lately with other projects outside of media. If you are listening to this on WAA Radio, you know that they have been running older shows while I have been on a break. As I mentioned on my last show a couple of weeks ago, this is how things will be this year. For today's show, I have another episode of The Grave Diggers of Orpheus chapter 12, A dystopian future story and the first chapter of a new fantasy. I will save chapter two for the next time I read stories for everyone. Plus, two poems that I think people will like. So gather round once more and let me read to you under the shade of The Village Oak Tree.

I wasn't planning on doing a commentary show this week as I am still going to read some stories and poetry today. I recorded this last Monday because events in the news over the weekend just put me a little over the top and I needed to talk about some of it for my own sanity. Join me again for another visit with world news as I talk about Donald Trump a little and the latest United States hubris in their thinking that they can take on the Russian military in Ukraine. Even though I recorded this earlier in the week, I am sure there has been some more breaking news since then. I can't keep up and I am not even going to try. To wrap things up, I read you another chapter of Michael Campi's The Priest to help people envision what the collapse of the United States will look like someday. I hope my thoughts stop people and give them a little pause in their lives as we watch these stupid politicians, we elected edge us ever closer to World War Three.

News Rundown for Wednesday November 13th, 2024

I am back again the week after the U.S. elections to offer some insight on the news from around the world. This week, it's mostly about Donald J. Trump, his choices, so far, of cabinet and administration picks. No one truly knows what Trump is going to do but his choices give us a pretty good idea of what's coming for the people of the U.S. and the world. Especially immigrants. Illegal and otherwise. If Trump follows through on his campaign promises, free speech like this may become a thing of the past. I plan to keep at it until I am stopped. With that in mind, I am offering a link to my substack page where these podcasts are also posted. https://substack.com/@terrancedomhnaill I am not worried about censorship here on RSS.com but it pays to be careful these days.

First Episode for the Celtic New Year - Space Faring Stories and a Bulgarian Poem

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree Stories and Poetry I am Terrance Ó Domhnaill, your village scéalaí, back with more stories and poems from authors around the world. In this first show of the Celtic New Year, I have four stories and one poem for everyone. I continue with The Grave Diggers of Orpheus chapter 11, three other space faring stories from Substack writers and a poem about the Fae in Bulgaria from a Medium writer. Some more notes about this show as we head into the new year. Starting today, this show will now be found under The Village Oak Tree heading on any mobile podcasts. Crann na beatha Stories and Poetry as a standalone title is no more. I will leave the old episodes up until next July, then they will all be archived for good. Something else I wish to add. I will only be posting one podcast a week from now on. I will read stories and poems every other week on Wednesdays instead of every week on Fridays. I have other projects I need to attend to this year and I need more of my time to pursue them. Thank you for understanding. So gather round once more and let me read to you under the shade of the crann na beatha, the tree of life.
