Interview with Danielle Orsino

This week, I interview an award-winning author of The Birth of the Fae series. A fantasy fiction about a whole different world and look at the Fae as we of Irish ancestry see them. She is also a noted martial artist and cosplayer. All of which she talks about in the interview, but our main focus is about the world of traditional publishing and publishing companies. This interview is eye opening for all aspiring writers thinking of writing and publishing a book. I invite you to watch us talk about our struggles with the publishing world and maybe learn a thing or two.

Interview with David Beckemeyer

Cead Fáilte Welcome back to The Village Oak Tree. In this episode I interview Mr. David Beckemeyer, who produces and hosts The Outrage Overload podcast. He is a retired tech industry professional from Silicon Valley and now interviews political experts about toxic politics in the United States. I invite everyone to listen to the interview and see how you can learn to manage the toxic politics in your community.

Interview with Jim Fuhs, Marine Corp. Veteran and Entrepreneur

My guest this week is a retired Marine Corp. Lieutenant Colonel, who transitioned off active duty into retirement in 2009. He had a good career and now, after a couple of other tries, has found a new calling into teaching people and businesses how to use and navigate social media. He is also very active with his local American Legion post as a Vice Commander of one of the largest and most active American Legion posts in Georgia. We talk about our different transitions from active duty, some of the struggles we had, and where we are now. We both agree that helping other veterans is a good cause and we both want to help any way we can. We lay out some ideas that could be implemented that would save money and help more veterans, if we could get someone to listen, Come join us and listen to our conversation. Maybe you too can find a way to help veterans in need in your community.

The Village Oak Tree - Monkey Pox and Covid, Oh my, Oh my

Esplicito
This is just a short commentary this week about the new Monkey Pox virus strain that appears to be airborne, how Covid is not a thing of the past as the governments would have you believe, and some news from around the world you may or may not know about. I wrap things up with chapter 9 of The Priest by Michael Campi. His dystopian future United States serial story.

News and Politics for Wednesday, August 14th

My scheduled guest for today had to reschedule due to an illness on his part, so I created another commentary to maintain some continuity. I picked a bunch of news and blog articles, plus I used some content from video news podcasts to offer everyone a snapshot of everything that is going on around the world and here in the U.S. There are a lot of things you might not be aware of and some you are. They are all important to know so people can prepare for what's coming. Let me know what you think in the comments. If you think this is important enough, please like and maybe subscribe. I would like to see this podcast gain more attention in the dark days ahead.

The Village Oak Tree Sunday Edition August 11

This is another Sunday Edition. As I say in the opening commentary, this is a spillover of all the rest of the news that hit the wires after last Wednesday. I start with a bit about the still ongoing Covid pandemic that everyone is ignoring, politics and how they are intertwined. To wrap things up, I read another chapter from Michael Campi's dystopian future. A serialized story about what things will look like when it all collapses. This commentary is restricted due to language.

Cead Fáilte Welcome to the Village Oak Tree It's been a wild week in the world, with U.S. politics, the wars in the middle east and Ukraine and so much else. Let me bring you up to speed a little bit with some perspective from an activist point of view. I don't have any skin in the game on either side, so I call it as I see it. When I have finished scaring you, I will read you chapter 7 from my ongoing dystopian future story, The Priest (Once known as Bob) Warning. I have restricted this to adults only for language.

This Sunday, my friend Mitch and I are back to talk about the things in the news that affect all of us one way or another right now. Everything from politics to the environment and everything in between. Our first subject is Mitch's revelation about how banks are issuing old money as if it were new bills. Is there something going on with the banks and the Federal Reserve we don't know about? The biggest topic of the week is of course the passing of the baton to Kamala Harris a week ago and what has been going on since. We also delve into the war in Gaza and Ukraine, what we think V.P. Harris's stand on that might be, given her past and latest speech after meeting the Israeli P.M. Truthfully, we are unsure and want to see more. I brought up an article I found about recycling plastic, and we talk about how recycling or not, is being handled in our communities. How the world can't live without plastic, but we can't live with it either, as far as waste is concerned. We talk a little bit about the pro-Palestine protests and how they are planning to return in full form come September after the summer break. We discuss the pullout of U.S. troops from Iraq this fall and how that may affect foreign policy. Trump's latest speech to a Christian Nationalist convention telling them that if he is elected, they don't have to worry about voting again in four years. We talk about how ominous that sounds. Come join us again to find out if any of these news stories have an effect on your thinking. At the end of the program, I read you another chapter from Michael Campi's serialized story, The Priest (formerly known as Bob) to continue to highlight what the U.S may look alike after the crash.

Interview with Angela Fontaine

This week, I bring everyone my interview with a local woman who is running for the local school board in district 4, here in Richmond, Virginia. She is a job coach and works a bit in social services, while juggling a family and running her business. I wanted to interview her to try and showcase people who are working hard in the local communities where I live. This applies to all communities around the country. I want this to be an inspiration to all aspiring entrepreneurs who want to make a difference where they live. Ms. Fontaine is working very hard to bring a sense of normalcy to her local school board. More common sense instead of panic over curriculum and library books. Come listen to what she has to say about her company and her struggles to run for elected office and see if you can take some inspiration to follow her example. Go make a difference in your community.
