RDAT: Groups Final – Wu-Tang Clan vs. OutKast
A quorum about the Rap Debut Album Tournament (RDAT); A fictional invention from seven years ago essentially working backwards from the statement - Illmatic by Nas is the greatest rookie rap album. Tonight is the Finals of the Groups Bracket based on the 19th article in the RDAT series - C.R.E.A.M. vs. Player's Ball. This deep in the RDAT, there are no losers. While choosing a winner is the goal, we'll spend this episode celebrating the greatness of these debut albums by all-time great musicians. But which will move on? 3 Outta 7: 21 - I'm rembarassed for you
We talk about the greats like greatness isn't among us or are they? Will Freddie Freeman reach 3,000 hits? Are the Guardians guarding a Cooperstown resident to be? What deadline deal will you have to remember because every announcer will remind you about it? Which will you remember after this podcast? Likely one dealing with your favorite team. We run through our favorite teams and discuss what to put in your scorebook if a batter strikes out, but reaches first base on a wild pitch or passed ball? Does the WP/PB matter and what syndicated shows really matter to you? Tonight's Trivia Answer - 126 YouTube - https://youtu.be/PWG0C1KBfiM MartinKester.com
Mets Up - Trade Deadline Review with Josh Sarfity
It was all a dream; or was it? Was the dream believing the 2026 New York Mets would compete for the postseason? Or was it the 2024 run to the NLCS was nothing more than that - a run? I run this idea past the Terminal's unofficial Stadium Chaser Josh Sarfity. Unofficial because we work on the cheap like the Mets' bullpen. Leaping strikeouts and rookie debuts is what's left when you unload every arm except one. One of few who is certain to be in Orange and Blue next year. Who knows what an internal explosion looks like? The Shadow knows. Tonight's Trivia Answer - 18 YouTube - https://youtu.be/6eJlChvZ3Pk MartinKester.com
Terminal Talk - Hollywood Wins & Humans Hurt
The world came together recently for the World Cup. We joined as one with the release of Spiderman: Brand New Day. And along with the success of The Odyssey; we've celebrated cinema to the tune of nearly $1 billion in profit. But was it worth it? Are the films inside theaters with surround sound on an IMAX/3-D screen good enough reason to exit the home? And how important is it to leave one's home? Actually, science says it's like bumming half a pack of smokes. But if you're not paying for it, then who's really at fault? Terminal Talk - Game of Thrones 15-Year Review
A moment is saying to slow down but if I don't get this out before the storm that is viewing The Odyssey and Spider-Man; I find it difficult to believe I'll have the same emotion that I still have after rewatching all 8 seasons of Game of Thrones. A book reader first, I watched along at the time. But that time was a different one; one where access to HBO wasn't as easy as it seems to be for all today. Anyway; upon this rewatch it became clear I didn't "watch" the final episodes of Season 7 and all of Season 8. I feel for those that watched it live and even more for those who made sure and paid up for... Tonight's Trivia Answer - 1,056 YouTube - https://youtu.be/YMD5OyEYmVE MartinKester.com
Gate to Gate - Spider-Man & The MCU
The backbone of Marvel Comics for many a generation returns to theaters, generating enough talk to fill a brand new day. But will you spend a day & find a way to see it in its true format? Or is that the other long journey film? Filling the time before getting in line, we'll discuss the latest MCU phase, wonder how connected the small screen product be should, and finish remembering a time when a show started and everyone nodded their heads. 3 Outta 7: 20 - Wrong Number. This is 9-1...2
Almost old enough to drink, this podcast is getting ready to hit its stride or grind its gears. Both are semi-popular idioms occasionally used to kill time. We start with sports annoyances like dugout posing after a home run. Is rolling around after a soccer foul similar to stepping out of the batter's box to readjust batting gloves? How about rolling the basketball towards midcourt? Nothing like that should be in a good sports movie, so what should be? RDAT: Outside NYC Final - My Name Is vs. Through the Wire
A quorum about the Rap Debut Album Tournament (RDAT); A fictional invention from seven years ago essentially working backwards from the statement - Illmatic by Nas is the greatest rookie rap album. Tonight is the Finals of the NYC Bracket based on the 17th article in the RDAT series - My Name Is vs. Through The Wire The championship of the Outside NYC bracket features two artists who were outside the norm when they released their debut. Since then, the public has swayed closer to the persona their displayed way back when. Tonight's Trivia Answer - 45,000 YouTube - https://youtu.be/ss6vf1JYa3g?si=chpLhYVo32w-mMlY MartinKester.com
3 Outta 7: 19 - Back With The 1-2 Step
It's easy to forget (or maybe not so much) but the MLB All-Star break has begun; here's hoping I remember to ask about that while also griping at commentors from the few articles I'm able to make it through nowadays. What's a little look back about surprises without tossing cold water to end the day. No? How about a 10-minute rant about random 80s sitcoms? Gate to Gate - DC Comics Media Draft
Returning to the well that is DC Comics, I call back guests from all over to discuss what this current vision of DC looks like and how great it's looked before from their deep well of a media vault. We'll draft our favorites; everything from the recently released Supergirl film to the animated movie from 2023 that followed Kara or the Supergirl TV series on CBS in 2015. Is the bar set too high? - 2:30 Gods and Monsters - 9:45 Batman: TAS is off the board - 20:00 Justice League Doom - 28:45 Blue Beatle - 34:30 Tonight's Trivia Answer - 5 YouTube - https://youtu.be/1ccOcKPg_O8 MartinKester.com
