WHO REALLY INVENTED GRIME? The Untold Story with Dream AKA The Grime Journalist

Dream aka The Grime Journalist joins us for one of the deepest conversations about the history, culture and evolution of UK Grime. From Jungle and Garage to Pirate Radio, Sublow and Grime, Dream takes us through his journey and gives his perspective on one of the biggest debates in UK music: who really invented Grime? We talk about the early days of Wiley, Dizzee Rascal, Jon E Cash, Jammer, Pay As U Go, More Fire Crew, So Solid Crew, HLC and Lethal B, the transition from Garage into Grime, the importance of Pirate Radio and why Dream felt the culture was heading in the wrong direction. Dream also opens up about his journey from East London school days to MCing, the birth of his identity as The Grime Journalist, going viral through football content, working with the Premier League, ghostwriting, writing Dubs and working with major artists. We get into his work with Flowdan, who went on to win a Grammy, his relationship with DJ AG, Culture Clash, Will Smith, Rita Ora, Burna Boy and the incredible Dubplate stories behind the scenes. And of course, we settle the big questions: Who invented Grime? Who named Grime? Does Grime have to be 140 BPM? Was Grime really born from Garage? Who is the Godfather of Grime? Who is the greatest Grime MC? What are the greatest Grime instrumentals of all time? Plus, Dream reveals details about his new album, gives his thoughts on Drill and AI, names his favourite Grime instrumentals and Pirate Radio sets, and finishes with a freestyle. This is a conversation about Grime history from someone who was there. 🎙️ Dream aka The Grime Journalist #Grime #TheGrimeJournalist #Dream #UKGrime #GrimeMusic #Wiley #DizzeeRascal #SoSolidCrew #Jammer #Flowdan #PirateRadio #UKGarage #Jungle #London 🔥 CHAPTERS
