Ben Arthur | National Journalist for NFL on FOX
Chopped it up with an NFL on FOX reporter about their journey through the journalism world. From his formal education, to writing bylines for ESPN, to all the traveling, he tells everything about his journey. Originally interested in people, Ben eventually gravitated to storytelling where he would find his passion for telling narratives within sports. Apart from the media, we talked about his cultural podcast, Bridge2Self, and about the importance of global awareness and cultural sensitivity. As you’ll find out, it’s so much bigger than black and white. MuyMuy Gregorio | Filipino Director
Description: Looking back, this was an amazing conversation! MuyMuy opens up about his “why” in film — giving his community an authentic voice. One that both celebrates and critiques the standards that come with being Filipino. He pulls inspiration from a variety of sources, but all have the shared notion of culturally important films. We shared multiple commonalities: Filipino identity and the passion for using our voices in the media. Near the end, we discuss the notion of absent-minded privilege, or the lack of understanding one's own privilege and tying it back into MuyMuy’s creative process. Thank you so much for listening and growing your mind with me. ♥️ Time Stamps: 00:00 Intro 2:16 The Underlying Ideas of Isang trilogy & Lenora 11:00 Filming Specific Problems with Universal Appreciation; Inspiration from Martin Scorsese, Spike Lee, and Jordan Peele 13:15 The Direction of a Young filmmaker: Film Festivals, Post-grad Ideas, Working with Like-Minded People 22:00 The Formula to Good Storytelling 27:00 Serving Your Audience & Marketing 31:45 Sharing our Experience as Pinoy Immigrant Children 34:00 Leadership, Teamwork, and MuyMuy’s First Shoot 40:00 Absent-Minded Privilage and Abuses of Power 48:00 Origin of the Filmmaker 53:00 Where to Find MuyMuy Episode Sources: Muymuy - Video Editor, Director & Production Assistant - Vimeo Muymuy Gregorio (@muygorio) • Instagram photos and videos Muymuy Gregorio | LinkedIn Gaze Films - YouTube - Film Trailers WWU Film Production Club IG Want to make a movie? @DviGreen | Magazine Editor, Staff Writer, Liberation Philosophy
Esplicito
Description: Recorded September 19th, 2025. First, Devin confers about his very first formal interview: a religious radio host. He breaks down the myths and rhetoric of The Fortress of Faith. Devin also elaborates on his notion of the “marketplace of ideas,” AKA the free range of media influencers who compete for clicks/reads/listens. An element that contrasts a consumer’s yearning for factual, fluff-free news or echo chambers to fortify their opinion. Both speakers note how cuts to public spending are being done to antagonize educational institutions like universities and public media. At the end, we our compare food groups to media consumption: highlighting the fact that reading from accredited sources should be your fruits and veggies, with politically charged/partisan news outlets playing a smaller role.
