The Secret Brandon Johnson Has Kept for 20 Years — and the Bigger Reason He Keeps Showing Up

For 20 years, Brandon "BLJ" Johnson has kept one secret close — who's really under that mascot suit. But that's not even the most interesting thing about him.

Charles Mabry sits down with the man who leads the Claw Crew and the Grizz Girls for a conversation about showing up, staying hopeful, and why he still believes in this team no matter what the record says:

🤐 The secret he's protected for two decades — and the loyalty behind it

🎭 Building a character from scratch: the OJ Mayo sleeves, the Zach Randolph chain, the persona that made Memphis fall in love

💭 "We don't take life, we don't give life. We are here to entertain your life." — his philosophy on why sports should be your escape, not your stress

🌱 His genuine hope for a rebuilding season, and why he still believes in the people steering the ship

👨‍👧‍👦 Fatherhood, honesty, and the hardest phone call a parent can get — his daughter's deployment, and the pride of becoming a grandfather

🏀 What a college classroom visit and a same-day interview turned into: two decades of creating moments fans remember for a lifetime

This is BLJ — the heartbeat behind every game night at FedExForum.
