What happens when Zach Cregger takes on Resident Evil?
Krlozis joined by Rick from Frightology Degree to break down the 2026 horror film — what worked, what didn't, and whether Cregger's mix of horror and comedy actually fits the franchise.
We talk about Cregger's approach to the material, the success of Obsession and what it says about the current appetite for horror, the movie's atmosphere and scares, its shift in tone once the story reaches Raccoon City, the supporting characters, and that divisive final stretch.
Rick also shares his perspective as a longtime Resident Evil video-game fan, while Krloz comes at the movie more as a casual viewer — making for a conversation about whether the film needs to be faithful to the games to work.
