Mickey Haller is riding high three months after the Trevor Elliott acquittal, but the victory carries a steep cost. The DA refuses to acknowledge wrongful conviction and instead reopens the Jesús Menendez case, assigning Detective Griggs to reinvestigate. Mickey takes on new client Russell Lawson, wins his case, then learns Russell staged his entire arrest to exploit attorney-client privilege — because Russell is the real killer who let Menendez take the fall. The episode closes with Mickey trapped: he knows the truth and cannot speak it.
