Elijah confronted an Israel trying to serve both God and Baal, limping between two opinions. Our greatest danger is rarely overt paganism; it is the subtle compromise of placing good, religious things above God Himself. Our denomination, doctrines, remnant identity, lifestyle reforms, and even our constructed mental pictures of God easily become modern idols wearing holy clothing. The Elijah message is not a weapon to expose pagan culture, but a mirror calling God's own people to account. True revival begins only when we smash the self-righteous idols we fiercely defend within ourselves.
