Reading the Market: Property Market Outlook After the Budget
The Considered Move di Andersen in Australia
Note sull'episodio
The Federal Budget 2026-27 property measures received Royal Assent on 26 June 2026 and commence on 1 July 2027. From that date, negative gearing on residential property is limited largely to new builds, and the capital gains tax (CGT) discount is replaced with indexation for older stock.
In this episode of The Considered Move, Andersen's Callen Dendle and Cameron Allen are joined by Richard Temlett, National Executive Director of Research at Charter Keck Cramer, to work through what the changes mean for investors, developers, housing supply and buyer behaviour, and the question many are quietly asking: if the rules change, where does demand go next?
