Pure Heart, New Heart (Be Aware Series)

(Psalm 51:10) God wants us to make sure we have the right attributes to overcome evil. In this episode, we talk about how David went to the God asking to have a created clean heart.; no longer desiring to sin. We are being told to be aware that evil thoughts and evil deeds operates out of unclean hearts. Having an unclean heart allows evil to control us.

SCRIPTURES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE:

• James 1: 14 & 15 – Understanding that we are tempted by our own evil desires. When these desires remain in our hearts it leads to sin which eventually will lead us to death.
• Luke 4: 13 – We know that evil will come to tempt us, but resisting evil/temptation it has to leave us alone.
• Hebrews 2: 18 – Understanding that Jesus Christ suffered himself when He was being tempted but He also conquered those temptations and so can we.
• Hebrews 12: 1-3 – Understanding that we can certainly live free from sinful acts/deeds by having the heart to resist evil.

• Remaining aware of spiritual warfare against us and on our behalf.
• Resisting evil by asking God for a clean heart and remaining with the new, clean heart.
• Recognizing that temptation, evil and having sinful desires have already been conquered with the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
